The Champions Club is excited to induct Dr. Kevin Willits to the Wall of Champions as part of the Class of 2026.![]()

Dr. Willits graduated from McMaster University with his M.D. in 1996 before making his way to Western to complete his orthopaedic residency. During his residency, Dr. Willits joined the football coaching staff, working with the defensive backs from 1998 to 2000. Following his residency, he travelled south to complete fellowships at both the Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa Bay and the Mississippi Sports Medicine Orthopaedic Center in Jackson.![]()

In 2003, Dr. Willits returned to London to finish his residency with Dr. Peter Fowler and also reassumed his role coaching the defensive backs. In 2009, Dr. Willits took on the role of orthopaedic surgeon for the football team. During his time with the Western football program, the Mustangs have won eight Yates Cups and two Vanier Cups. Dr. Willits has operated on countless Mustangs football players.![]()

Currently, Dr. Willits is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at Western and resides in London with his wife, Karen. He has two sons, Sam and Brett, who both played hockey for the Mustangs in the 2025–26 academic year.

Leigh has a passion for developing client-centred treatment through education, manual therapy, and exercise prescription. After receiving her Masters of Physical Therapy at Western University in 2015, she later returned to Western University to complete a Master of Clinical Science in Advanced Health Care Practice, specializing in Comprehensive Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Through this training, she earned the designation of Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists (FCAMPT).![]()

Leigh is dedicated to helping patients return to pre-injury functional status, while providing them with the tools and knowledge to prevent future injuries.![]()
