No, a referral is appreciated but not required to see a physiotherapist for sport-related injuries. However, if you plan to make a claim for reimbursement through a third-party insurance provider, you should check with your provider to see if a physician’s referral is required to process the claim.

No, physiotherapy visits are not covered under OHIP, but you may have coverage for all or part of your fee under one of the following:

• Student health insurance plan
• Extended health insurance benefits
• Sports association insurance plan (as a player, coach or official)
• Employee health program

There is an initial fee of $130.00, which includes comprehensive assessment, treatment, education and home program. Subsequent visits are $80.00 each and include ongoing re-assessment, treatment, monitoring of progress and education.

Debit, credit cards and cash. If you are a full-time undergraduate student at Western University or Fanshawe College, direct billing of your insurance provider can be arranged.

Acute injuries can be seen within 48 hours, while chronic problems are seen within one week.

What do I need to bring to my first appointment?
• Arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork.
• Wear athletic clothing, shorts, tank tops, t-shirts, running shoes.
• Bring copies of any referrals or test results.

Parking is available at both sites.

• Western University Clinic – $1.50 per half hour/max $8
• Fanshawe College Clinic – $3 per hour
